PRP THERAPY is a ground breaking, natural treatment using a concentrated serum processed from your own blood to aid in the healing and regeneration of soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments for the treatment of pain and skin rejuvenation, through a simple in-clinic nonsurgical procedure which uses a concentrated serum processed from your own blood.

Long-lasting pain relief through your body's natural healing process!

The PRP Therapy process intensifies the body's efforts by delivering a higher concentration of platelets into and around the point of injury, jump-starting and significantly strengthening the body's natural healing process. Because your own blood is used, there is no risk of a transmissible infection and a very low risk of allergic reaction. And unlike traditional pain injection, PRP does not wear off over time.

PRP treatment works most effectively for chronic ligament and tendon sprains/strains such as osteoarthritis of the knee, shoulder, hip and spine, rotator cuff tears, chronic plantar fasciitis, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, pelvic pain and instability, back and neck injuries, tennis elbow, ankle sprains, tendonitis, and ligament sprains.

Cutting-edge, antiaging, skin rejuvenation treatment with the power to trigger the body's own tissue regeneration potential!

The injection of PRP, with a fine dermal needle, will facilitate the release of platelet growth factors from the plasma. This will result in cell growth, formation of blood capillaries and, most importantly, the building of new collagen to give your skin new vitality and freshness.

Your skin texture will improve as new tissue cells grow and visible results may take 3-6 weeks. The results continue to improve over time as new collagen will be produced and skin elasticity will improve with a noticeable difference in tone and texture of the skin. Each treatment is about one month apart and four treatments is usually recommended.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma which is blood plasma containing a high concentration of platelets.  These cells within the blood promote clotting and healing process, repairing damage and injuries.
PRP can help regenerate and revitalise damaged skin, reduce fine lines and improve skin texture.

What does PRP treatment involve?
We use an approved world leading system for the preparation of PRP.  This system has been used to successfully treat fine lines worldwide since 2008.
Preparing PRP is a quick and easy process.  Blood is collected from you in 1-2 specially designed tubes which are then centrifuged for 5-10 minutes.  During centrifugation, a patented gel within the tubes isolates PRP from other unrequired cells within the blood.
PRP is then ready for application.  Depending on the indication, it can be applied as follows:

  • As multiple small superficial injections
  • Topically in combination with other treatments

Skin rejuvenation can be performed simply by injecting PRP into the skin.

How long does the treatment take?
A PRP treatment will take around 45-60 minutes in total.  The longest part of the treatment is the spinning and separation of the blood in the centrifuge.  The injecting component may be performed in as little as 15 minutes.

How does PRP work?
Direct injection of PRP into the skin supports and helps accelerate the process of tissue regeneration and repair.
PRP contains fundamental growth factors released by activated platelets to help initiate the tissue regeneration process by:

  • Stimulation of new collagen production
  • Induction of mesenchymal stem cell division and differentiation
  • Stimulation of angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels

What conditions can PRP be used for?
PRP has been used in medicine to speed up the healing of injuries, either surgical or traumatic. E.g. tendon injuries, orthopaedic surgery, dental surgery, and more recently cosmetic and hair loss treatment.
Cosmetic laser skin resurfacing often take several days for recovery.  At Ezyhealth, PRP is used to help to reduce the healing times. It is injected just under the skin of the treated areas, and the growth factors that PRP releases help to reduce recovery time, speed healing, skin rejuvenation and improve the final result of the laser treatment.

Which areas may be treated with PRP Therapy?
The full face, neck, décolletage and hands can be treated. PRP injections for wrinkles are especially suitable for treatment of crepe skin around the eyes and eyelids.
Other body areas that can be treated include the knees, elbows, upper arms and stretch marks, all of which can be effectively and easily improved, giving visible results.

What skin conditions can be treated with PRP injections?
A wide number of skin conditions can be treated, including the following:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven or dull skin tone
  • Dry and dehydrated skin
  • Fine, thin crepe skin around the eyes
  • Fine, thin crepe skin on the neck and back of hands
  • Mild scarring
  • Scar improvement
  • Acne scarring
  • Improving skin elasticity
  • Stretch marks
  • Post-surgical/trauma scars

How effective is PRP therapy?
Expected results of PRP therapy include the following:

  • Improved skin colour, elasticity, tone and thickness
  • Remodelling of the collagen fibres
  • Long-term smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Faster healing following aesthetic treatments e.g. laser skin treatment and dermal needling

How many treatments are required?
A minimum of four treatments are usually recommended, to be performed at monthly intervals. Some people may need up to six treatments and ongoing maintenance treatment may be performed every six to twelve months.

How long will the results last?
PRP therapy provides natural and long lasting results. Each treatment delivers a cumulative effect, with visible changes evident within two to three months. The healing and regenerative effect continues for over twelve months after just one PRP injection treatment.

Will PRP hurt?
Some clients may experience mild discomfort while receiving PRP injections.  To ensure greater comfort, a local anaesthetic may be applied to the area being treated.
At Ezyhealth, we take great care about the patient experience.  We will ensure that each and every PRP session is performed gently to minimize pain and ensure maximum comfort.

Is PRP therapy safe?
Because PRP therapy uses your own blood, the risk of allergy and immunological reactions or contamination with transmissible diseases is eliminated, making PRP one of the safest and most tolerable procedures currently available.

Is PRP therapy suitable for me?
PRP therapy is suitable for the following conditions:

  • Tired and dry skin, laxity of skin, uneven pigmentation
  • Signs of skin ageing
  • Overall skin quality, texture and tone improvement
  • Certain types of alopecia or general hair thinning
  • People who may experience risk of allergic reactions from other treatments
  • People looking for a natural treatment

While PRP can be performed safely and effectively on the majority of patients, there may be some for whom it is not best-suited.  Our cosmetic doctors will establish your suitability for the procedure after an initial consultation.
